Hoggard finishes 3rd at Port City Invitational

     Playing without threeof its regular starters, Hoggard suffered a 6-3 defeat to East Chapel Hill in the semifinals of the Port City Invitational.

     The Vikings bounced back to defeat Cardinal Gibbons, the top-ranked 3A team in the state, 7-2 to claim third place.
     Caitlin Neal continued her impressive play, winning a pair of singles matches at No. 3.
     Hoggard is 2-1 on the season and opens Mideastern Conference play at New Bern on Sept. 9.
