Hoggard falls to CFA

Posted Monday, September 13, 2010 by Tim Hower

Hoggard and Cape Fear Academy battled into the night and in the end a tiebreaker win at No. 4 singles and an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles lifted the Hurricanes to a 6-3 win.
The Vikings (3-2) fell behind 4-2 after singles, a deficit that was too much to come back from.
Freshman Anna Hodges picked up her first career victory, defeating Susan Hyman in a third-set tiebreaker. McKayla Zupan remained unbeaten on the year with a come-from-behind win at No. 1.
Hoggard hosts cross-town rival New Hanover on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 4:30 p.m.
