Vikings cruise to 7-2 win over New Hanover

Posted Wednesday, September 15, 2010 by Tim Hower

Fueled by four straight set victories in singles, Hoggard remained unbeaten in the Mideastern Conference with a 7-2 win over New Hanover.
The Vikings (4-2, 2-0) continued to look impressive in doubles play, sweeping all three courts. McKayla Zupan and Elizabeth Hodges moved to 6-0 on the season and 15-0 in their career at No. 1 doubles.
Freshman Anna Hodges and junior Caitlin Neal each dropped just two games in easy wins at No. 3 and 4 respectively.
Hoggard looks to get some revenge on Greenville Rose, last year’s conference champs and the team that knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs, on Thursday. The match will be played at Hoggard starting at 4:30 p.m.
