Hoggard announces 2013 schedule

Posted Wednesday, July 24, 2013 by Tim Hower
The Hoggard girls tennis team will tackle a 17-match schedule, including potential contests against some of the state’s top programs.
The Vikings return two starters from last year’s team, which won the Mideastern Conference title for the second consecutive season.
In its opener, Hoggard will travel to Cape Fear Academy. The Rebels have been one of North Carolina’s top private school teams for the past few seasons.
The Vikings will have 12 conference matches this year in the new-look Mideastern Conference. Topsail, South Brunswick and West Brunswick have joined the four New Hanover County schools.
The Port City Tournament, an annual event, will be held on Aug. 23-24. Four teams who made at leas the second round of the playoffs last year will join the Wilmington schools in the 8-team field. Three of the out-of-town squads won conferences titles (East Chapel Hill, Lake Norman and Cardinal Gibbons)
