Hoggard's three-match winning streak comes to an end

     Hoggard's three-match winning streak came to an end Friday at Cape Fear Academy. The Hurricanes took an early lead by winning two doubles matches en route to a 6-3 victory.
      The Vikings' lone doubles win came at No. 1, where Kara Ferner and Dallas Barnhard teamed for an 8-2 decision.
      Ferner earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles and Claudia Opper scored a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 for Hoggard (4-3).
      Both teams played without regular starters. Hoggard was missing No. 1 player Melanie Post and the Rebels played without their No. 4 and 6 players.
      Next up for the Vikings is a match at Ashley on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
