Seniors shine in final home match

Seniors Dallas Barnhardt and Catie Dull each claimed a singles victory in their final home match as Hoggard downed West Brunswick 8-1 on Tuesday at the Jeff Holcomb Tennis Complex.

Barnhardt moved up three spots to No. 1 and wasted little time in earning an 8-0 victory. Dull moved up four spots to No. 2 and earned an 8-2 win.

Lauren Traflet, Paxton Brewer and Christie Scialabba were the other singles winner for the Vikings, who ended the match with a doubles sweep.

Hoggard (12-5, 10-2 Mideastern) finished the season in second place in the Mideastern Conference.

Six member of the Vikings will compete in the individual conference championships on Thursday at Empie Park. Play begins at 10 a.m. and the top three placers in singles and doubles qualify for the 4A East Regional Tournament.
